Introduction to Interior Design & Styling

What you will learn

Generate creative ideas for designing your interior space; learn the basics of interior design styles; use mood boards and sample boards to communicate your ideas; experiment with fabrics, patterns and textures; and use colour theory for interior design. This course will be taught at a Levels 1 and 2 or equivalent standard.

Where this course leads

At the end of the course, you will have completed your own personal interior design and styling project. You will also have gained valuable opportunities for further study or progression to our Advanced Interior Design & Styling course where you will be able to extend your skills in residential projects or focus on commercial design.

Who should attend

This course requires no prior knowledge of interior design or styling. It will benefit learners who want or need basic professional skills for their personal interiors project; as well as those looking to embark on an exciting new career in interior design and architecture.

the tutor

This course has been devised and taught by an architect and educator with more than 20 years’ experience of teaching in further and higher education. She has worked extensively in the interior design industry, designing and styling for some of the world’s leading educational institutions and hotel chains. As an educator she has an unenviable record of preparing Level 3 and Level 4 students for entry to the UK’s top universities.
